Books Immersed (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Books Immersed mobile app collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.
## Information We Collect
Books Immersed collects limited information needed to provide app functionality.
### Email Address
If you use the app’s restore access or refresh library feature, you may enter an email address. We use this email address to verify whether you have access to Books Immersed soundscapes and to send or verify an access code.
### App and Library Data
The app may store information on your device, such as selected soundscapes, playback position, downloaded content state, mixer settings, skip interval, hidden library items, and appearance preferences.
This information is used to make the app work as expected and is generally stored locally on your device.
### Audio and File Access
If you choose to add narration files, the app may ask you to select files or folders from your device. These files are used locally for playback. Books Immersed does not upload your selected narration files to our servers.
### Remote Content
The app connects to Firebase services to load the library manifest, artwork, and soundscape audio files, and to verify access to content.
## How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Restore or verify access to soundscapes
- Send and verify access codes
- Load available library content
- Download or stream soundscape audio and artwork
- Save app preferences and playback progress
- Provide support if you contact us
We do not sell your personal information.
## Third-Party Services
Books Immersed uses Firebase services provided by Google, including Firebase Storage, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Functions, and related Firebase infrastructure.
These services may process technical information necessary to provide backend services, deliver content, verify access, and maintain security.

## Tracking and Advertising
Books Immersed does not use third-party advertising networks.
Books Immersed does not use your information to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
## Data Retention
We retain access-related information, such as email-based entitlement records and access code records, for as long as needed to provide access, prevent abuse, maintain records, and operate the service.
Access codes may expire or be deleted according to our backend rules.
Information stored locally on your device remains there unless you delete the app, clear app data, or use in-app controls that remove it.
## Sharing Information
We may share information only as needed to:
- Provide app functionality through service providers such as Firebase/Google
- Comply with legal obligations
- Protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the app, or our services
We do not sell personal information.
## Children’s Privacy

You can choose not to enter an email address, but some access restoration features may not work.
You can delete downloaded app data by deleting the app from your device. You may also contact us to request help with access-related data.
